Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz informed us... from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) who said regarding the sacrificial meat: They used to salt what they could and take it to Madinah. She said: This was not because of the prohibition itself, but he wanted to feed from it. And in another narration: al-Dawaffa (the destitute) had come, meaning the poor Bedouins, so he wanted the well-off to help the poor. In another narration she said: It was only done because of the extreme hunger. She said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) did not do what you say, but rather he said: Eat, store, and give charity.
