وَأَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الصَّفَّارُ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُصَفًّى ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ عَنْ عُمَيْرِ بْنِ هَانِئٍ قَالَ بَعَثَنِي عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ مَرْوَانَ بِكُتُبٍ إِلَى الْحَجَّاجِ فَأَتَيْتُهُ وَقَدْ نَصَبَ عَلَى الْبَيْتِ أَرْبَعِينَ مَنْجَنِيقًا فَرَأَيْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ إِذَا حَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ مَعَ الْحَجَّاجِ صَلَّى مَعَهُ وَإِذَا حَضَرَ ابْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ صَلَّى مَعَهُ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَتُصَلِّي مَعَ هَؤُلَاءِ وَهَذِهِ أَعْمَالُهُمْ؟ فَقَالَ يَا أَخَا أَهْلِ الشَّامِ مَا أَنَا لَهُمْ بِحَامِدٍ وَلَا نُطِيعُ مَخْلُوقًا فِي مَعْصِيَةِ الْخَالِقِ قَالَ قُلْتُ مَا تَقُولُ فِي أَهْلِ الشَّامِ؟ قَالَ مَا أَنَا لَهُمْ بِحَامِدٍ قُلْتُ فَمَا تَقُولُ فِي أَهْلِ مَكَّةَ؟ قَالَ مَا أَنَا لَهُمْ بِعَاذِرٍ يَقْتَتِلُونَ عَلَى الدُّنْيَا يَتَهَافَتُونَ فِي النَّارِ تَهَافُتَ الذُّبَابُ فِي الْمَرَقِ قُلْتُ فَمَا قَوْلُكَ فِي هَذِهِ الْبَيْعَةِ الَّتِي أَخَذَ عَلَيْنَا مَرْوَانُ؟ قَالَ قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ كُنَّا إِذَا بَايَعْنَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى السَّمْعِ وَالطَّاعَةِ يُلَقِّنُنَا فِيمَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ
انگریزی ترجمہ
Umayr ibn Hani' said: 'Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan sent me with letters to al-Hajjaj. I came to him while he had set up forty catapults against the House (Ka'bah). I saw Ibn Umar: when the prayer came with al-Hajjaj, he prayed with him, and when Ibn al-Zubayr was present, he prayed with him. I said to him: O Abu Abd al-Rahman, you pray with these people despite their deeds? He said: O brother from the people of Syria, I do not praise them, and we do not obey a creature in disobedience to the Creator. I said: What do you say about the people of Syria? He said: I do not praise them. I said: What about the people of Makkah? He said: I do not excuse them. They fight over the world, falling into the Fire as flies fall into soup. I said: What about this pledge of allegiance that Marwan has taken from us? Ibn Umar said: When we used to pledge allegiance to the Messenger of Allah to hear and obey, he would prompt us: as much as you are able.'
