أنبأ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يُوسُفَ بْنِ يَعْقُوبَ السُّوسِيُّ أنبأ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ أنبأ عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثنا عُمَرُ بْنُ ذَرٍّ ثنا مُجَاهِدٌ أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ؓ كَانَ يَقُولُ وَاللهِ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ إِنْ كُنْتُ لَأَعْتَمِدُ بِكَبِدِي عَلَى الْأَرْضِ مِنَ الْجُوعِ وَإِنْ كُنْتُ لَأَشُدُّ الْحَجَرَ عَلَى بَطْنِي مِنَ الْجُوعِ وَلَقَدْ قَعَدْتُ يَوْمًا عَلَى طَرِيقِهِمُ الَّذِي يَخْرُجُونَ فِيهِ فَمَرَّ بِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ فَسَأَلْتُ عَنْ آيَةٍ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللهِ تَعَالَى مَا سَأَلْتُهُ إِلَّا لِيَسْتَتْبِعَنِي فَمَرَّ وَلَمْ يَفْعَلْ ثُمَّ مَرَّ بِي عُمَرُ فَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ آيَةٍ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللهِ مَا سَأَلْتُهُ إِلَّا لِيَسْتَتْبِعَنِي فَمَرَّ وَلَمْ يَفْعَلْ ثُمَّ مَرَّ بِي أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ ﷺ فَتَبَسَّمَ حِينَ رَآنِي وَعَرَفَ مَا فِي نَفْسِي وَمَا فِي وَجْهِي ثُمَّ قَالَ يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ قُلْتُ لَبَّيْكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ الْحَقْ وَمَضَى فَاتَّبَعْتُهُ فَدَخَلَ وَاسْتَأْذَنْتُ فَأَذِنَ لِي فَدَخَلْتُ فَوَجَدَ لَبَنًا فِي قَدَحٍ فَقَالَ مِنْ أَيْنَ هَذَا اللَّبَنُ؟ قَالُوا أَهْدَاهُ لَكَ فُلَانٌ أَوْ فُلَانَةُ قَالَ يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ قُلْتُ لَبَّيْكَ يَا رَسُولُ اللهِ قَالَ الْحَقْ أَهْلَ الصُّفَّةِ فَادْعُهُمْ لِي قَالَ وَأَهْلُ الصُّفَّةِ أَضْيَافُ الْإِسْلَامِ لَا يَأْوُونَ إِلَى أَهْلٍ وَلَا مَالٍ إِذَا أَتَتْهُ صَدَقَةٌ يَبْعَثُ بِهَا إِلَيْهِمْ وَلَمْ يَتَنَاوَلْ مِنْهَا شَيْئًا وَإِذَا أَتَتْهُ هَدِيَّةٌ أَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهِمْ فَأَصَابَ مِنْهَا وَأَشْرَكَهُمْ فِيهَا فَسَاءَنِي ذَلِكَ قُلْتُ وَمَا هَذَا اللَّبَنُ فِي أَهْلِ الصُّفَّةِ؟ كُنْتُ أَرْجُو أَنْ أُصِيبَ مِنْ هَذَا اللَّبَنِ شَرْبَةً أَتَقَوَّى بِهَا وَأَنَا الرَّسُولُ فَإِذَا جَاءَ أَمَرَنِي أَنْ أُعْطِيَهُمْ فَمَا عَسَى أَنْ يَبْلُغَنِي مِنْ هَذَا اللَّبَنِ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ مِنْ طَاعَةِ اللهِ وَطَاعَةِ رَسُولِهِ بُدٌّ فَأَتَيْتُهُمْ فَدَعَوْتُهُمْ فَأَقْبَلُوا حَتَّى اسْتَأْذَنُوا فَأَذِنَ لَهُمْ وَأَخَذُوا مَجَالِسَهُمْ مِنَ الْبَيْتِ فَقَالَ يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ قُلْتُ لَبَّيْكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ خُذْ فَأَعْطِهِمْ فَأَخَذْتُ الْقَدَحَ فَجَعَلْتُ أُعْطِيهِ الرَّجُلَ فَيَشْرَبُ حَتَّى يَرْوَى ثُمَّ يَرُدَّ عَلَيَّ الْقَدَحَ فَأُعْطِيَهُ الْآخَرَ فَيَشْرَبَ حَتَّى يَرْوَى ثُمَّ يَرُدَّ عَلَيَّ الْقَدَحَ حَتَّى انْتَهَيْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَقَدْ رَوِيَ الْقَوْمُ كُلُّهُمْ فَأَخَذَ الْقَدَحَ وَوَضَعَهُ عَلَى يَدِهِ وَنَظَرَ إِلَيَّ وَتَبَسَّمَ وَقَالَ يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ قُلْتُ لَبَّيْكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ بَقِيَتُ أَنَا وَأَنْتَ قُلْتُ صَدَقْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ اقْعُدْ فَاشْرَبْ فَقَعَدْتُ وَشَرِبْتُ فَقَالَ اشْرَبْ فَشَرِبْتُ فَقَالَ اشْرَبْ فَشَرِبْتُ فَمَا زَالَ يَقُولُ فَاشْرَبْ فَأَشْرَبُ حَتَّى قُلْتُ لَا وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ نَبِيًّا مَا أَجِدُ لَهُ مَسْلَكًا قَالَ فَأَرِنِي فَأَعْطَيْتُهُ الْقَدَحَ فَحَمِدَ اللهَ وَسَمَّى وَشَرِبَ الْفَضْلَ رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ أَبِي نُعَيْمٍ
انگریزی ترجمہ
Abu Hurairah said: "By Allah, besides Whom there is no god, I used to press my liver against the ground from hunger and tie a stone to my stomach from hunger. One day I sat on their path where they would pass. Abu Bakr passed by and I asked him about a verse from the Book of Allah, only so he would invite me to eat, but he passed on. Then Umar passed and I asked him about a verse, only so he would invite me, but he passed on. Then Abu al-Qasim (peace be upon him) passed, and he smiled when he saw me and recognized what was in my heart and on my face. He said: 'O Abu Hurairah!' I said: 'At your service, O Messenger of Allah.' He said: 'Follow me.' He entered and I asked permission and was admitted. He found milk in a cup and asked: 'Where did this milk come from?' They said: 'So-and-so sent it to you.' He said: 'O Abu Hurairah, go to the People of the Suffah and invite them.' The People of the Suffah were the guests of Islam who had no family or wealth. When charity came to him, he would send it to them without taking any. When a gift came, he would send for them and share it. I was saddened and thought: what is this little milk among the People of the Suffah? I hoped to get a sip to strengthen myself, but I had to obey Allah and His Messenger. I called them and they came. He said: 'O Abu Hurairah, take it and give it to them.' I gave the cup to each man who drank until he was satisfied, then returned it to me, until all had drunk. Then the Prophet took the cup, placed it on his hand, looked at me and smiled, and said: 'O Abu Hurairah, only you and I remain.' I said: 'You have spoken the truth, O Messenger of Allah.' He said: 'Sit and drink.' I sat and drank. He kept saying 'Drink,' until I said: 'By the One Who sent you with the truth, I can find no more room for it!' He said: 'Then show me,' and I gave him the cup. He praised Allah, said Bismillah, and drank the rest." Recorded by al-Bukhari.
