وَأنبأ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ وَأَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو قَالَا ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ الْعُطَارِدِيُّ ثنا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنْ طَاوُسٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ مَرَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِقَبْرَيْنِ فَقَالَ إِنَّهُمَا لَيُعَذَّبَانِ وَمَا يُعَذَّبَانِ فِي كَبِيرٍ أَمَّا أَحَدُهُمَا فَكَانَ يَمْشِي بِالنَّمِيمَةِ وَأَمَّا الْآخَرُ فَكَانَ لَا يَسْتَتِرُ مِنَ الْبَوْلِ ثُمَّ أَخَذَ جَرِيدَةً رَطْبَةً فَشَقَّهَا نِصْفَيْنِ ثُمَّ جَعَلَ فِي كُلِّ قَبْرٍ وَاحِدَةً قَالَ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ لِمَ فَعَلْتَ هَذَا؟ قَالَ لَعَلَّهُ أَنْ يُخَفَّفَ عَنْهُمَا مَا لَمْ يَيْبَسَا رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى عَنْ أَبِي مُعَاوِيَةَ
انگریزی ترجمہ
Ibn Abbas said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) passed by two graves and said, 'They are being punished, and they are not being punished for something major. As for one of them, he used to walk about spreading gossip. As for the other, he used to not protect himself from urine.' Then he took a fresh palm branch and split it in half, and placed one on each grave. They said, 'O Messenger of Allah, why did you do this?' He said, 'Perhaps their punishment will be lightened as long as these do not dry up.' Al-Bukhari narrated it in his Sahih from Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna from Abu Mu'awiyah.
