Abu Ali al-Husayn ibn Muhammad ibn Muhammad ibn Ali al-Rudhbari informed us, from al-Husayn ibn al-Hasan ibn Ayyub al-Tusi, from Abu Hatim al-Razi, from Abu Tawbah, from Mu'awiyah ibn Sallam ibn Abi Sallam al-Habashi, from his father Zayd ibn Sallam, that he heard Abu Sallam say: I heard Abu Umamah al-Bahili (may Allah be pleased with him) say: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Recite the Quran, for it will come on the Day of Resurrection as an intercessor for its companions. Recite al-Baqarah and Al Imran, for they are the two radiant ones; they will come on the Day of Resurrection as though they are two clouds, or two shades, or two flocks of birds in ranks, pleading on behalf of their companion. Recite Surah al-Baqarah, for taking it is a blessing, abandoning it is a regret, and the sorcerers cannot withstand it." Mu'awiyah said: "The sorcerers" means magicians. Muslim narrated it in his Sahih from Hasan al-Hulwani from Abu Tawbah.
