أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَمْرٍو مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْأَدِيبُ أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْإِسْمَاعِيلِيُّ أنبأ أَبُو يَعْلَى ثنا خَلَفُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ وَأَبُو الرَّبِيعِ فَرَّقَهُمَا قَالَا ثنا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ غَيْلَانَ بْنِ جَرِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى ؓ قَالَ أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فِي رَهْطٍ مِنَ الْأَشْعَرِيِّينَ نَسْتَحْمِلُهُ قَالَ وَاللهِ لَا أَحْمِلُكُمْ وَمَا عِنْدِي مَا أَحْمِلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ قَالَ فَلَبِثْنَا مَا شَاءَ اللهُ ثُمَّ أُتِيَ بِإِبِلٍ فَأَمَرَ لَنَا بِثَلَاثِ ذَوْدٍ غُرِّ الذُّرَى فَلَمَّا انْطَلَقْنَا قُلْنَا أَوْ قَالَ بَعْضُنَا لِبَعْضٍ لَا يُبَارِكُ اللهُ لَنَا أَتَيْنَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَسْتَحْمِلُهُ فَحَلَفَ أَنْ لَا يَحْمِلَنَا ثُمَّ حَمَلَنَا فَأَتَوْهُ فَأَخْبَرُوهُ فَقَالَ مَا أَنَا حَمَلْتُكُمْ وَلَكِنَّ اللهَ حَمَلَكُمْ إِنِّي وَاللهِ إِنْ شَاءَ اللهُ لَا أَحْلِفُ عَلَى يَمِينٍ فَأَرَى غَيْرَهَا خَيْرًا مِنْهَا إِلَّا كَفَّرْتُ يَمِينِي وَأَتَيْتُ الَّذِي هُوَ خَيْرٌ هَذَا حَدِيثُ خَلَفٍ
انگریزی ترجمہ
Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) with a group of Ash'arites asking him to provide us with mounts. He said: By Allah, I will not provide you with mounts, and I have nothing to mount you on. We waited for some time, then he was brought camels and ordered that we be given three white-humped camels. When we left, some of us said to others: May Allah not bless us - we came to the Messenger of Allah asking for mounts, and he swore not to give us any, then he gave us. They told him, and he said: It was not I who provided you, but Allah provided you. By Allah - in sha Allah - I will not swear an oath and then see something better than it except that I make expiation for my oath and do what is better.
