And Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz informed us: Ahmad ibn Shu'ayb ibn Harun al-Zahid reported to us: Sahl ibn Ammar al-Ataki narrated to us: Muhammad ibn al-Qasim al-Asadi narrated to us: al-Awza'i narrated to us, from Hassan ibn Atiyyah, from Abu Waqid al-Laythi (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: We said: "O Messenger of Allah, famine afflicts us; what of carrion is fit for us?" He said: "So long as you do not take it as a morning drink, nor an evening drink, nor uproot vegetables by it, then it is at your disposal."
