Abu al-Qasim Abd al-Rahman ibn Ubaydullah ibn Abdullah al-Hurfi informed us in Baghdad, Ahmad ibn Salman al-Faqih informed us, Isma'il ibn Ishaq narrated to us, Hafs ibn Umar narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us from Ziyad ibn Ilaqah, from Usamah ibn Sharik (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: "I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and his companions were as if birds were perched on their heads. I greeted them and sat down. Then Bedouins came from here and there and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, should we seek treatment?' He said: 'Seek treatment, for Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, has not placed a disease without placing a cure for it, except for one thing - old age.' They also asked him about various matters, saying: 'Is there any sin upon us in such-and-such?' He said: 'O servants of Allah, Allah has removed hardship, except for one who wrongs another person unjustly - that is the one who is in hardship and is ruined.' They said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what is the best thing people are given?' He said: 'Good character.'"
