وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ أنبأ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ ثنا مُحَمَّدٌ ثنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أنا شَبَابَةُ ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّهُ دَخَلَ عَلَى عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ ؓ فَقَالَ إِنَّ الْأَخَوَيْنِ لَا يَرُدَّانِ الْأُمَّ عَنِ الثُّلُثِ قَالَ اللهُ {فَإِنْ كَانَ لَهُ إِخْوَةٌ} [النساء 11] فَالْأَخَوَانِ ��ِلِسَانِ قَوْمِكَ لَيْسَا بِإِخْوَةٍ فَقَالَ عُثْمَانُ لَا أَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ أَرُدَّ مَا كَانَ قَبْلِي وَمَضَى فِي الْأَمْصَارِ وَتَوَارَثَ بِهِ النَّاسُ وَرُوِيَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فِي أَبَوَيْنِ وَإِخْوَةٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ إِنَّمَا حَجَبَ الْإِخْوَةُ الْأُمَّ مِنَ الثُّلُثِ؛ لِيَكُونَ السُّدُسُ لَهُمْ وَهُوَ بِخِلَافِ قَوْلِ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ وَغَيْرِهِ
انگریزی ترجمہ
Abu Sa'id informed us: Abu Abdullah narrated to us: Muhammad narrated to us: Ishaq ibn Ibrahim informed us: Shababah narrated to us: Ibn Abi Dhi'b narrated from Shu'bah from Ibn Abbas who entered upon Uthman ibn Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: Two brothers do not reduce the mother from one-third. Allah says: 'If he had brothers' [4:11], and two brothers in your people's language are not 'brothers' (plural). Uthman said: I cannot overturn what was practiced before me and has been established in all the lands by which people have been inheriting. And it was narrated from Ibn Abbas regarding parents and siblings that he said: The siblings only blocked the mother from one-third so that the one-sixth would be for them. This is contrary to the view of Zayd ibn Thabit and others.
