Isma'il narrated to us, he said: al-Hajjaj ibn Abi Uthman informed us, from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurayrah who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The previously married woman is to be consulted regarding herself, and the virgin is to be asked permission." They said: 'O Messenger of Allah, how is her permission given?' He said: 'By her silence.'
