حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْعَلَاءُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي فَقَالَ يَا أُبَيُّ فَالْتَفَتَ فَلَمْ يُجِبْهُ ثُمَّ صَلَّى أُبَيٌّ فَخَفَّفَ ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ وَعَلَيْكَ قَالَ مَا مَنَعَكَ أَيْ أُبَيُّ إِذْ دَعَوْتُكَ أَنْ تُجِيبَنِي قَالَ أَيْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كُنْتُ فِي الصَّلَاةِ قَالَ أَفَلَسْتَ تَجِدُ فِيمَا أَوْحَى اللَّهُ إِلَيَّ أَنْ { اسْتَجِيبُوا لِلَّهِ وَلِلرَّسُولِ إِذَا دَعَاكُمْ لِمَا يُحْيِيكُمْ } قَالَ قَالَ بَلَى أَيْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لَا أَعُودُ قَالَ أَتُحِبُّ أَنْ أُعَلِّمَكَ سُورَةً لَمْ تَنْزِلْ فِي التَّوْرَاةِ وَلَا فِي الزَّبُورِ وَلَا فِي الْإِنْجِيلِ وَلَا فِي الْفُرْقَانِ مِثْلُهَا قَالَ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ أَيْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو أَنْ لَا تَخْرُجَ مِنْ هَذَا الْبَابِ حَتَّى تَعْلَمَهَا قَالَ فَأَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِيَدِي يُحَدِّثُنِي وَأَنَا أَتَبَطَّأُ مَخَافَةَ أَنْ يَبْلُغَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَقْضِيَ الْحَدِيثَ فَلَمَّا أَنْ دَنَوْنَا مِنْ الْبَابِ قُلْتُ أَيْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا السُّورَةُ الَّتِي وَعَدْتَنِي قَالَ فَكَيْفَ تَقْرَأُ فِي الصَّلَاةِ قَالَ فَقَرَأْتُ عَلَيْهِ أُمَّ الْقُرْآنِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ مَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ فِي التَّوْرَاةِ وَلَا فِي الْإِنْجِيلِ وَلَا فِي الزَّبُورِ وَلَا فِي الْفُرْقَانِ مِثْلَهَا وَإِنَّهَا لَلسَّبْعُ مِنْ الْمَثَانِي.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Affan narrated to us, he said: Abd al-Rahman ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, he said: al-Ala ibn Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came upon Ubayy ibn Ka'b while he was praying and said: 'O Ubayy!' He turned but did not respond. Then Ubayy shortened his prayer and went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: 'Peace be upon you, O Messenger of Allah.' He said: 'And upon you.' He said: 'What prevented you, O Ubayy, from responding to me when I called you?' He said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I was in prayer.' He said: 'Did you not find in what Allah revealed to me: Respond to Allah and to the Messenger when he calls you to that which gives you life?' He said: 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah, I shall not do it again.' He said: 'Would you like me to teach you a surah the like of which has not been revealed in the Torah, nor in the Psalms, nor in the Gospel, nor in the Quran?' I said: 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah.' The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: 'I hope that you will not leave through this door until you learn it.' He said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) took my hand and was speaking to me while I was slowing down, fearing he would reach the door before finishing the narration. When we drew near the door, I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what is the surah you promised me?' He said: 'How do you recite in prayer?' He said: I recited Umm al-Quran (al-Fatihah) to him. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: 'By the One in Whose hand is my soul, Allah has not revealed in the Torah, nor in the Gospel, nor in the Psalms, nor in the Quran anything like it. It is the Seven Oft-Repeated verses.'"
