Abu Hurayrah narrated that a man came to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) while he was with him and asked: O Prophet of Allah, which deeds are best? He said: "Belief in Allah and striving in the cause of Allah." He said: What if I cannot do that? He said: "Then which necks (slaves to free) have the greatest reward?" He said: "The most valuable and most precious to their owners." He said: What if I cannot do that? He said: "Then help someone in need, or assist an unskilled person." He said: What if I cannot do that? He said: "Then restrain yourself from evil, for that is a good charity you give to yourself."
