وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ قَالَ وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَوْلَا أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى أُمَّتِي مَا قَعَدْتُ خِلَافَ سَرِيَّةٍ تَغْدُو فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَلَكِنْ لَا أَجِدُ مَا أَحْمِلُهُمْ وَلَا يَجِدُونَ سَعَةً فَيَتْبَعُونِي وَلَا تَطِيبُ أَنْفُسُهُمْ أَنْ يَتَخَلَّفُوا بَعْدِي.
انگریزی ترجمہ
With the same chain, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, were it not that I would be imposing hardship on my nation, I would never stay behind from any expedition going out in the cause of Allah, the Mighty and Sublime. But I cannot find mounts for them, nor do they have the means to follow me, and their souls would not be content to stay behind after me."
