حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ الْمَدَائِنِيُّ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ حَبِيبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ شُبَيْلِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ لِثَوْبَانَ كَيْفَ أَنْتَ يَا ثَوْبَانُ إِذْ تَدَاعَتْ عَلَيْكُمْ الْأُمَمُ كَتَدَاعِيكُمْ عَلَى قَصْعَةِ الطَّعَامِ يُصِيبُونَ مِنْهُ قَالَ ثَوْبَانُ بِأَبِي وَأُمِّي يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَمِنْ قِلَّةٍ بِنَا قَالَ لَا أَنْتُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ كَثِيرٌ وَلَكِنْ يُلْقَى فِي قُلُوبِكُمْ الْوَهَنُ قَالُوا وَمَا الْوَهَنُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ حُبُّكُمْ الدُّنْيَا وَكَرَاهِيَتُكُمْ الْقِتَالَ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say to Thawban: 'How will you be, O Thawban, when the nations call one another against you as people calling one another to share a dish of food?' Thawban said: 'May my father and mother be sacrificed for you, O Messenger of Allah! Is it because we will be few?' He said: 'No, you will be many on that day, but weakness will be cast into your hearts.' They said: 'What is weakness, O Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'Your love of the world and your dislike of fighting.'
