The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'When the call to prayer is made, Shaytan turns and flees with flatulence so that he does not hear the call. When the call is finished, he comes back. When the iqamah is given, he turns and flees again. When the iqamah is finished, he comes back and whispers between a person and his soul, saying: Remember this, remember that — things he did not remember before — until the man does not know how many rak'ahs he has prayed.'
