Bahz narrated to us: Hammam narrated from Qatadah from Yazid, the brother of Mutarrif, from Abdullah ibn Amr that he asked the Prophet (peace be upon him): "In how many days should I read the Quran?" He mentioned the hadith. Yahya said: "In seven days. One who reads it in less than three does not comprehend it." He said: "How should I fast?" He said: "Fast three days of every month - one day from every ten days - and you will be rewarded for nine days." He said: "I am able to do more than that." He said: "Then fast two days from every ten, and you will be rewarded for eight days" - until he reached five days.
