Ya'la and Muhammad, the two sons of Ubayd, told us, they said: Muhammad - meaning Ibn Ishaq - told us; Muhammad said in his account: Nafi' told me, from Ibn Umar, who said: I saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, with a pebble in his hand, scraping away phlegm he saw on the qiblah wall, and saying: "When one of you prays, let him not spit in front of him, for the servant, when he prays, is standing in intimate conversation with his Lord the Exalted." Muhammad said: "facing him."
