حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْهَاشِمِيُّ أَنْبَأَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ جَعْفَرٍ أَخْبَرَنِي مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ جَرَّ ثَوْبَهُ خُيَلَاءَ لَمْ يَنْظُرْ اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ إِنَّ أَحَدَ شِقَّيْ إِزَارِي يَسْتَرْخِي إِلَّا أَنْ أَتَعَاهَدَ ذَلِكَ مِنْهُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّكَ لَسْتَ مِمَّنْ يَصْنَعُهُ خُيَلَاءَ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ أَخْبَرَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ جَرَّ ثَوْبَهُ خُيَلَاءَ لَمْ يَنْظُرْ اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ.

Sulayman ibn Dawud al-Hashimi told us: Isma'il, that is Ibn Ja'far, informed us: Musa ibn Uqbah informed me, from Salim ibn Abdullah ibn Umar, from his father, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'Whoever drags his garment out of pride, Allah will not look at him on the Day of Resurrection.' Abu Bakr said, 'One side of my lower garment slips down unless I take care of it.' The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, 'You are not one of those who do it out of pride.' Ali ibn Ishaq told us: Abdullah informed us: Musa ibn Uqbah informed us, from Salim ibn Abdullah, from Abdullah ibn Umar, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'Whoever drags his garment out of pride, Allah will not look at him on the Day of Resurrection' - and he related the like of its meaning.
