حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنْ صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنَا نَافِعٌ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ الْمَسْجِدَ كَانَ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَبْنِيًّا بِاللَّبِنِ وَسَقْفُهُ الْجَرِيدُ وَعُمُدُهُ خَشَبُ النَّخْلِ فَلَمْ يَزِدْ فِيهِ أَبُو بَكْرٍ شَيْئًا وَزَادَ فِيهِ عُمَرُ وَبَنَاهُ عَلَى بِنَائِهِ فِي عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِاللَّبِنِ وَالْجَرِيدِ وَأَعَادَ عُمُدَهُ خَشَبًا ثُمَّ غَيَّرَهُ عُثْمَانُ فَزَادَ فِيهِ زِيَادَةً كَثِيرَةً وَبَنَى جِدَارَهُ بِالْحِجَارَةِ الْمَنْقُوشَةِ وَالْقَصَّةِ وَجَعَلَ عُمُدَهُ مِنْ حِجَارَةٍ مَنْقُوشَةٍ وَسَقْفَهُ بِالسَّاجِ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Ya'qub told us: My father told us, from Salih: Nafi' told us that Abdullah informed him that the mosque, in the time of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was built of unbaked bricks, its roof of palm leaves, and its pillars of palm wood. Abu Bakr did not add anything to it, but Umar added to it and rebuilt it upon its original construction from the time of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, with unbaked bricks and palm leaves, restoring its pillars in wood. Then Uthman changed it, adding a great deal to it, building its wall with carved stones and mortar, making its pillars of carved stone, and its roof of teakwood.
