Abu al-Nadr told us, Mahdi told us, from Muhammad ibn Abi Ya'qub, from Ibn Abi Nu'm, who said: A man came to Ibn Umar while I was sitting there, and asked him about the blood of a mosquito. Ibn Umar said to him, "Where are you from?" He said, "From the people of Iraq." He said, "Look at this one, asking about the blood of a mosquito, when they have killed the son of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him! I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: 'The two of them are my two sweet basil flowers from this world.'"
