حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ حُرَيْثٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ الْجَرِّ وَالدُّبَّاءِ وَالْمُزَفَّتِ وَأَمَرَ أَنْ يُنْتَبَذَ فِي الْأَسْقِيَةِ.

Affan told us, Shu'bah told us, from Uqbah ibn Hurayth, who said: I heard Ibn Umar say: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade [storing drink in] al-jarr [earthenware jars], al-dubba' [gourds], and al-muzaffat [pitch-coated vessels], and commanded that it be steeped in leather water-skins."
