Waki' told us, from Sufyan, from Firas, from Abu Salih, from Zadhan, from Ibn 'Umar, that he called for a slave of his and freed him, then said, "I do not have from his reward the like of this," for something he picked up from the ground. "I heard the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, say, 'Whoever slaps his slave, his expiation is to free him.'"
