حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الصَّبَّاحِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُرَّةَ الْهَمْدَانِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ اسْتَحْيُوا مِنْ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ حَقَّ الْحَيَاءِ قَالَ قُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّا نَسْتَحِي وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ قَالَ لَيْسَ ذَلِكَ وَلَكِنْ مَنْ اسْتَحَى مِنْ اللَّهِ حَقَّ الْحَيَاءِ فَلْيَحْفَظْ الرَّأْسَ وَمَا حَوَى وَلْيَحْفَظْ الْبَطْنَ وَمَا وَعَى وَلْيَذْكُرْ الْمَوْتَ وَالْبِلَى وَمَنْ أَرَادَ الْآخِرَةَ تَرَكَ زِينَةَ الدُّنْيَا فَمَنْ فَعَلَ ذَلِكَ فَقَدْ اسْتَحْيَا مِنْ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ حَقَّ الْحَيَاءِ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Muhammad ibn Ubayd told us: Aban ibn Ishaq told us, from al-Sabbah ibn Muhammad, from Murrah al-Hamdani, from Abdullah ibn Mas’ud, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said one day, "Be shy before Allah, Mighty and Majestic, with due shyness." We said, "O Messenger of Allah, we are indeed shy, praise be to Allah." He said, "That is not it; rather, whoever is shy before Allah with due shyness, let him guard his head and what it contains, and guard his stomach and what it holds, and let him remember death and decay, and whoever desires the Hereafter should abandon the adornments of this world. Whoever does that has indeed been shy before Allah, Mighty and Majestic, with due shyness."
