Abd al-Rahman told us, from Malik, from Abu al-Nadr, from Abu Murrah, freed slave of Aqil ibn Abi Talib, from Umm Hani', that she went to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, on the day of the Conquest of Mecca. She said: I found him performing ghusl, with Fatimah shielding him with a garment. I greeted him - and that was in the forenoon - and he said, "Who is this?" I said, "I am Umm Hani'." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, my cousin claims he will kill a man to whom I have granted protection - so-and-so ibn Hubayrah." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "We grant protection to whomever you have granted protection, O Umm Hani'." When the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, finished his ghusl, he stood and prayed eight rak'ahs, wrapped in a single garment.
