Mu'awiyah narrated to us: Abu Ishaq al-Fazari narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj, who said: Manbudh, a man of the family of Abu Rafi', narrated to me, from al-Fadl ibn Abdullah ibn Abi Rafi', from Abu Rafi', who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, whenever he had prayed the afternoon prayer, would sometimes go to Banu Abd al-Ashhal and converse until it was time to descend for the sunset prayer. He said: Abu Rafi' said: While the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was hurrying toward the sunset prayer, he passed by the graveyard of al-Baqi and said, "Woe to you, woe to you," twice, and it weighed heavily on me, and I fell back, thinking he meant me. He said, "What is the matter with you - walk on." I said, "Have I done something wrong, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "What is that?" I said, "You said 'woe' concerning me." He said, "No, but this is the grave of so-and-so - I sent him as a tax-collector over Banu so-and-so, and he embezzled a striped cloak, and he is now clothed in its like made of fire." Harun narrated to us: Ibn Wahb informed us: Ibn Jurayj informed us, from Manbudh, a man of the family of Abu Rafi': al-Fadl ibn Ubaydullah informed me, from Abu Rafi', who mentioned it, except that he said, "It weighed heavily upon me" and said, "I said, 'Have I done something wrong?'" He said, "What is that?" He said, "I said, 'You said woe.'"
