Waki' told us, from Nafi' b. Umar al-Jumahi, from Ibn Abi Mulaykah, from Asma', who said: The sun was eclipsed in the time of the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him), so he stood and prayed, prolonging the standing, then bowed and prolonged the bowing, then raised up and prolonged the standing, then bowed and prolonged the bowing, then raised up and prolonged the standing, then prostrated twice, then did the same in the second rak'ah. Then he said, 'Paradise was brought near to me, so much so that if I had dared to approach it, I would have brought you a cluster from its clusters; and the Fire was brought near to me, so much so that I said, "O Lord, am I among them?" And I saw in it a cat' — he said, I think it was scratching a woman who had confined it and did not feed it, nor let it eat from the vermin of the earth, until it died.
