حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ حُدِّثْتُ عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ فَزِعَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ كَسَفَتْ الشَّمْسُ فَأَخَذَ دِرْعًا حَتَّى أَدْرَكَ بِرِدَائِهِ فَقَامَ بِالنَّاسِ قِيَامًا طَوِيلًا يَقُومُ ثُمَّ يَرْكَعُ قَالَتْ فَجَعَلْتُ أَنْظُرُ إِلَى الْمَرْأَةِ الَّتِي هِيَ أَكْبَرُ مِنِّي قَائِمَةً وَإِلَى الْمَرْأَةِ الَّتِي هِيَ أَسْقَمُ مِنِّي قَائِمَةً فَقُلْتُ إِنِّي أَحَقُّ أَنْ أَصْبِرَ عَلَى طُولِ الْقِيَامِ مِنْكِ و قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ حَدَّثَنِي مَنْصُورُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أُمِّهِ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ شَيْبَةَ عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَزِعَ.

Abd al-Razzaq told us: Ibn Jurayj informed us: I was told, from Asma' bint Abi Bakr, that she said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was alarmed on the day the sun was eclipsed, and he took up a coat of mail until he caught up his cloak with it, and he stood with the people in a long standing, standing then bowing. She said: I began looking at the woman who was older than me, standing, and at the woman who was more sickly than me, standing, and I said, 'I am more entitled to bear the long standing than you.' And Ibn Jurayj said: Mansur b. Abd al-Rahman told me, from his mother Safiyyah bint Shaybah, from Asma' bint Abi Bakr, that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was alarmed.
