حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ أَبِي النَّضْرِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عُمَيْرًا مَوْلَى أُمِّ الْفَضْلِ أُمِّ بَنِي الْعَبَّاسِ عَنْ أُمِّ الْفَضْلِ قَالَتْ شَكُّوا فِي صَوْمِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ فَقَالَتْ أُمُّ الْفَضْلِ أَنَا أَعْلَمُ لَكُمْ ذَلِكَ فَبَعَثَتْ بِلَبَنٍ فَشَرِبَ.

Sufyan told us, from Abu al-Nadr, who said: I heard 'Umayr, the freedman of Umm al-Fadl, mother of the sons of al-'Abbas, from Umm al-Fadl, who said: "They doubted whether the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was fasting on the day of 'Arafah. Umm al-Fadl said: 'I will find that out for you.' So she sent him milk, and he drank it."
