حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ بُدَيَّةَ قَالَتْ أَرْسَلَتْنِي مَيْمُونَةُ بِنْتُ الْحَارِثِ إِلَى امْرَأَةِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَكَانَتْ بَيْنَهُمَا قَرَابَةٌ فَرَأَيْتُ فِرَاشَهَا مُعْتَزِلًا فِرَاشَهُ فَظَنَنْتُ أَنَّ ذَلِكَ لِهِجْرَانٍ فَسَأَلْتُهَا فَقَالَتْ لَا وَلَكِنِّي حَائِضٌ فَإِذَا حِضْتُ لَمْ يَقْرَبْ فِرَاشِي فَأَتَيْتُ مَيْمُونَةَ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لَهَا فَرَدَّتْنِي إِلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فَقَالَتْ أَرَغْبَةً عَنْ سُنَّةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَقَدْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَنَامُ مَعَ الْمَرْأَةِ مِنْ نِسَائِهِ الْحَائِضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا إِلَّا ثَوْبٌ مَا يُجَاوِزُ الرُّكْبَتَيْنِ حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ وَأَبُو كَامِلٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ شِهَابٍ عَنْ حَبِيبٍ مَوْلَى عُرْوَةَ عَنْ بُدَيَّةَ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ.

Yazid bin Harun told us: Muhammad bin Ishaq informed us, from al-Zuhri, from 'Urwah, from Budayyah, who said: Maymunah bint al-Harith sent me to the wife of 'Abdullah bin 'Abbas - there was kinship between them - and I saw her bedding set apart from his bedding. I thought that was due to estrangement, so I asked her. She said: "No, but I am menstruating; when I menstruate, he does not come near my bed." So I went to Maymunah and mentioned that to her, and she sent me back to Ibn 'Abbas's wife, saying: "Is this an aversion to the sunnah of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him? The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to sleep with the woman among his wives who was menstruating, with nothing between them except a garment not extending beyond the knees." Hajjaj and Abu Kamil told us: Layth told us: Ibn Shihab told me, from Habib, the freedman of 'Urwah, from Budayyah, and he mentioned the hadith.
