حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا طَلْحَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالَ زَعَمَ لِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ أَنَّ مُعَاوِيَةَ أَرْسَلَ إِلَى عَائِشَةَ يَسْأَلُهَا هَلْ صَلَّى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ شَيْئًا قَالَتْ أَمَّا عِنْدِي فَلَا وَلَكِنَّ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ أَخْبَرَتْنِي أَنَّهُ فَعَلَ ذَلِكَ فَأَرْسِلْ إِلَيْهَا فَاسْأَلْهَا فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ فَقَالَتْ نَعَمْ دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ فَصَلَّى سَجْدَتَيْنِ قُلْتُ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ أُنْزِلَ عَلَيْكَ فِي هَاتَيْنِ السَّجْدَتَيْنِ قَالَ لَا وَلَكِنْ صَلَّيْتُ الظُّهْرَ فَشُغِلْتُ فَاسْتَدْرَكْتُهَا بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Narrated to us by Ibn Numayr, who said: Talhah ibn Yahya narrated to us, who said: 'Ubaydullah ibn Abdullah ibn Utbah claimed to me that Mu'awiyah sent to A'ishah asking her whether the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ever prayed anything after 'Asr. She said: "Not as far as I know, but Umm Salamah informed me that he did that, so send to her and ask her." So he sent to Umm Salamah, and she said: "Yes, he came in to me after 'Asr and prayed two prostrations. I said, 'O Prophet of Allah, was something revealed to you concerning these two prostrations?' He said, 'No, but I prayed Zuhr and was occupied, so I made it up after 'Asr.'"
