Ziyad ibn Abdullah told us: Mansur told us, from Mujahid, from Abu Bakr ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Harith ibn Hisham, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: Whoever is overtaken by the dawn prayer while in a state of ritual impurity may not fast that day. He said: I mentioned that to Aisha, and she said: He is not saying anything correct. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to rise among us in a state of ritual impurity, then he would get up and wash, and Bilal would come to him and call him to prayer, so he would go out and lead the people in prayer while the water was still dripping down his skin, then he would continue that day fasting.
