Urwa reported that Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan wrote to him asking about certain matters. Urwa wrote back: Peace be upon you. I praise Allah to you, besides Whom there is no deity. As for what follows: You wrote asking me about certain matters — then he mentioned the hadith — Aisha informed me that while they were at midday in their house, with no one with Abu Bakr except his two daughters Aisha and Asma, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) came at the peak of the midday heat. He never used to miss a day visiting Abu Bakr's house at the beginning and end of the day. When Abu Bakr saw him come at noon, he said: "Nothing brought you at this hour, O Prophet of Allah, except something that has happened." When he entered, he said to Abu Bakr: "Send away whoever is with you." Abu Bakr said: "There is no spy here; they are only my two daughters." He said: "Allah the Almighty has permitted me to migrate to Madinah." Abu Bakr said: "Companionship, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "Companionship." Abu Bakr said: "Take one of these two riding camels" — which Abu Bakr had been feeding in preparation for departure when the Messenger of Allah would be given permission. Abu Bakr gave him one of the two camels and said: "Take it, O Messenger of Allah, and ride it." The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "I have taken it for its price."
