Aisha said: Fatimah bint Utbah ibn Rabi'ah came to give her oath of allegiance to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He took from her the pledge "that they will not associate anything with Allah, nor steal, nor commit adultery" - the verse. She placed her hand on her head out of shyness, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was pleased with what he saw of her. Aisha said, "Steady yourself, woman, for by Allah, we too gave our pledge only upon this." She said, "Yes indeed, then," and so he took her pledge on the terms of the verse.
