Husayn ibn Muhammad told us: Ayyub ibn Utbah told us, from Yahya, from Abu Salama, from A'isha, who said: Whenever the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, wanted to marry off one of his daughters, he would sit by her curtained chamber and say: "So-and-so mentions so-and-so" — naming her and naming the man who mentioned her — "if she remains silent, he marries her off, and if she dislikes it, she taps the curtain, and if she taps it, he does not marry her off."
