حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى عَنْ شَيْخٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ هِلَالٌ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ وَسَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ حَتَّى عَنْ مَسْحِ الْحَصَى فَقَالَ وَاحِدَةً أَوْ دَعْ.

It was narrated to us by Waki', from Ibn Abi Layla, from a shaykh called Hilal, from Hudhayfah, who said: I asked the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, about everything, even about wiping the pebbles (during prayer), and he said: 'Once, or leave it.'
