Muhammad ibn Ja'far told us: Shu'ba told us: I heard Abu Aqil narrating from Sabiq ibn Najiya, from Abu Sallam, who said: We were sitting in the mosque of Hims when a man passed by, and they said, "This man served the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him." I got up and asked him, and said, "Tell us what you heard from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, that has not been passed around among the people between you and us." He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: There is no Muslim servant who says three times when evening comes or when morning comes, "I am content with Allah as Lord, with Islam as religion, and with Muhammad as Prophet," but it becomes a right upon Allah, Mighty and Majestic, to please him on the Day of Resurrection. Affan told us: Shu'ba told us: Abu Aqil said: he informed me: I heard Sabiq ibn Najiya, a man of the people of Syria, narrating from Abu Sallam al-Bara', a man of the people of Damascus, who said: We were sitting in the mosque of Hims - and he mentioned its like, except that he said: he says when he rises in the morning and when evening comes, "I am content with Allah as Lord, with Islam as religion, and with Muhammad as Prophet," three times when morning comes and three times when evening comes, but it becomes a right upon Allah, Mighty and Majestic, to please him on the Day of Resurrection.
