حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ حَدَّثَنِي حُسَيْنٌ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ بُرَيْدَةَ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ أَنَا وَأَبِي عَلَى مُعَاوِيَةَ فَأَجْلَسَنَا عَلَى الْفُرُشِ ثُمَّ أُتِينَا بِالطَّعَامِ فَأَكَلْنَا ثُمَّ أُتِينَا بِالشَّرَابِ فَشَرِبَ مُعَاوِيَةُ ثُمَّ نَاوَلَ أَبِي ثُمَّ قَالَ مَا شَرِبْتُهُ مُنْذُ حَرَّمَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مُعَاوِيَةُ كُنْتُ أَجْمَلَ شَبَابِ قُرَيْشٍ وَأَجْوَدَهُ ثَغْرًا وَمَا شَيْءٌ كُنْتُ أَجِدُ لَهُ لَذَّةً كَمَا كُنْتُ أَجِدُهُ وَأَنَا شَابٌّ غَيْرُ اللَّبَنِ أَوْ إِنْسَانٍ حَسَنِ الْحَدِيثِ يُحَدِّثُنِي.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Zayd ibn al-Hubab narrated to us: Husayn narrated to me: 'Abdullah ibn Buraydah narrated to us, who said: I and my father entered upon Mu'awiyah, and he seated us on the cushions. Then food was brought to us and we ate. Then drink was brought to us, and Mu'awiyah drank, then handed it to my father, but he said: "I have not drunk it since the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade it." Mu'awiyah said: "I was the most handsome of the youth of Quraysh and the best of them in the front teeth (smile), and there was nothing in which I found pleasure like what I found in it when I was young, except milk, or a person of pleasant speech conversing with me."
