قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ حُدِّثْتُ عَنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ الْوَاقِفِيِّ يَعْنِي الْأَنْصَارِيَّ مِنْ بَنِي وَاقِفٍ عَنْ قُرَّةَ بْنِ خَالِدٍ حَدَّثَنَا بُدَيْلٌ حَدَّثَنَا شَهْرُ بْنُ حَوْشَبٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ غَنْمٍ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو مَالِكٍ الْأَشْعَرِيُّ أَلَا أُحَدِّثُكُمْ بِصَلَاةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ وَهَذِهِ صَلَاةُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ عَدِيٍّ أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَمْرٍو فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ الْأَشْجَعِيُّ.

Abu 'Abd al-Rahman said: I was told, from al-'Abbas ibn al-Fadl al-Waqifi — meaning the Ansari from Banu Waqif — from Qurrah ibn Khalid: Budayl narrated to us: Shahr ibn Hawshab narrated to us, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Ghanm, who said: Abu Malik al-Ash'ari said: 'Shall I not narrate to you the prayer of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him?' He said: And he gave the taslim to his right and to his left, then said: 'This is the prayer of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him,' and he mentioned the hadith. Zakariyya ibn 'Adi narrated to us: 'Ubaydullah — meaning Ibn 'Amr — informed us, and he mentioned the hadith, except that he said 'al-Ashja'i.'
