حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ سَالِمٍ أَبُو جَهْضَمٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ أَنَا وَفِتْيَةٌ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ عَلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ فَسَأَلُوهُ هَلْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ قَالَ لَا قَالَ فَقَالُوا فَلَعَلَّهُ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي نَفْسِهِ قَالَ خَمْشًا هَذِهِ شَرٌّ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ عَبْدًا مَأْمُورًا بَلَّغَ مَا أُرْسِلَ بِهِ وَإِنَّهُ لَمْ يَخُصَّنَا دُونَ النَّاسِ إِلَّا بِثَلَاثٍ أَمَرَنَا أَنْ نُسْبِغَ الْوُضُوءَ وَلَا نَأْكُلَ الصَّدَقَةَ وَلَا نُنْزِيَ حِمَارًا عَلَى فَرَسٍ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
We entered upon Ibn Abbas, and they asked him: 'Did the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) recite in the Dhuhr and Asr prayers?' He said: 'No.' They said: 'Perhaps he was reciting silently.' He said: 'That is worse — he was a servant commanded, and he conveyed what he was sent with. He did not single us out with anything over the rest of the people except three things: he commanded us to perform wudu thoroughly, not to eat from charity, and not to mate a donkey with a mare.'
