حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَسَمِعْتُهُ أَنَا مِنْ ابْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ بِالْكُوفَةِ وَقَالَ لَنَا فِيهِ ابْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ وَأَمَّا أَبِي فَحَدَّثَنَاهُ عَنْهُ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ الزُّهْرِيَّ وَحَدَّثَنَاهُ بِالْكُوفَةِ جَعَلَهُ لَنَا عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ثُمَّ رَجَعَ إِلَى حَدِيثِ أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ أَخْبَرَنِي جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعَثَهُ وَحْدَهُ عَيْنًا إِلَى قُرَيْشٍ قَالَ فَجِئْتُ إِلَى خَشَبَةِ خُبَيْبٍ وَأَنَا أَتَخَوَّفُ الْعُيُونَ فَرَقَيْتُ فِيهَا فَحَلَلْتُ خُبَيْبًا فَوَقَعَ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ فَانْتَبَذْتُ غَيْرَ بَعِيدٍ ثُمَّ الْتَفَتُّ فَلَمْ أَرَ خُبَيْبًا وَلَا كَأَنَّمَا ابْتَلَعَتْهُ الْأَرْضُ فَلَمْ يُرَ لِخُبَيْبٍ أَثَرٌ حَتَّى السَّاعَةِ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
'Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us - and I heard it myself from Ibn Abi Shaybah in Kufa, and Ibn Abi Shaybah included al-Zuhri in it for us, but my father narrated it from him without mentioning al-Zuhri, and he narrated it to us in Kufa including al-Zuhri then reverted to my father's narration - Ja'far ibn 'Awn narrated to us, from Ibrahim ibn Isma'il, Ja'far ibn 'Amr ibn Umayyah informed me, from his father, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent him alone as a spy to the Quraysh. He said: I came to the wooden cross of Khubayb while fearing being watched, so I climbed it and took down Khubayb, and he fell to the ground. I moved a short distance away, then turned around and did not see Khubayb, as if the earth had swallowed him. No trace was found of Khubayb to this day.
