Abu Ishaq al-Talaqani told us: Abdullah ibn al-Mubarak told us, from Yahya ibn Ayyub, from Ubaydullah ibn Zahr, from Ali ibn Yazid, from al-Qasim, from Abu Umamah, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Whoever strokes the head of an orphan, doing so only for the sake of Allah, will have good deeds for every hair over which his hand passes. And whoever treats an orphan girl or an orphan boy in his care well, I and he will be in Paradise like these two — and he separated his two fingers, the forefinger and the middle finger.
