حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ شِهَابٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَمٍّ لِأُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ عِيَاضٌ وَكَانَتْ بِنْتُ أُسَامَةَ تَحْتَهُ قَالَ ذُكِرَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلٌ خَرَجَ مِنْ بَعْضِ الْأَرْيَافِ حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ قَرِيبًا مِنْ الْمَدِينَةِ بِبَعْضِ الطَّرِيقِ أَصَابَهُ الْوَبَاءُ قَالَ فَأَفْزَعَ ذَلِكَ النَّاسَ قَالَ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو أَنْ لَا يَطْلُعَ عَلَيْنَا نِقَابُهَا يَعْنِي الْمَدِينَةَ قَالَ أَبِي و حَدَّثَنَاه الْهَاشِمِيُّ وَيَعْقُوبُ وَقَالَا جَمِيعًا إِنَّهُ سَمِعَ أُسَامَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَعْمَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ شِهَابٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَمٍّ لِأُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ عِيَاضٌ وَكَانَتْ ابْنَةُ أُسَامَةَ عِنْدَهُ وَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ مِثْلَهُ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ وَقَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ عِيَاضُ بْنُ صَبْرَى.

Abu Kamil told us, Ibrahim ibn Sa'd told us, Ibn Shihab told us, from a cousin of Usamah ibn Zayd called Iyad - whose wife was Usamah's daughter - who said: A man was mentioned to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, who had come out from some rural area, and when he was near Madinah along the road, the plague struck him. That frightened the people, so the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: I hope its onset will not reach us - meaning Madinah. My father said: al-Hashimi and Ya'qub also related it to us, and both said that he heard it from Usamah. Abu Ma'mar told us, Ibrahim ibn Sa'd told us, Ibn Shihab told us, from a cousin of Usamah ibn Zayd called Iyad - the daughter of Usamah being his wife - and he mentioned the hadith likewise. Abu Abd al-Rahman said: Some said his name was Iyad ibn Sabra.
