حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ أَبِي حَبِيبَةَ الطَّائِيِّ قَالَ أَوْصَى إِلَيَّ أَخِي بِطَائِفَةٍ مِنْ مَالِهِ قَالَ فَلَقِيتُ أَبَا الدَّرْدَاءِ فَقُلْتُ إِنَّ أَخِي أَوْصَانِي بِطَائِفَةٍ مِنْ مَالِهِ فَأَيْنَ أَضَعُهُ فِي الْفُقَرَاءِ أَوْ فِي الْمُجَاهِدِينَ أَوْ فِي الْمَسَاكِينَ قَالَ أَمَّا أَنَا فَلَوْ كُنْتُ لَمْ أَعْدِلْ بِالْمُجَاهِدِينَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَثَلُ الَّذِي يُعْتِقُ عِنْدَ الْمَوْتِ مَثَلُ الَّذِي يُهْدِي إِذَا شَبِعَ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi told us, from Sufyan, from Abu Ishaq, from Abu Habibah al-Ta'i, who said: My brother bequeathed to me a portion of his wealth. He said: So I met Abu al-Darda and said: 'My brother bequeathed to me a portion of his wealth - where should I place it, among the poor, or the fighters, or the destitute?' He said: 'As for me, if it were me, I would not equate anything with the fighters. I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: "The likeness of one who frees a slave at death is like the likeness of one who gives a gift when already full."'
