حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ خَارِجَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ أَوْ غَيْرِهِ أَنَّ زَيْدَ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ قَالَ لَمَّا كُتِبَتْ الْمَصَاحِفُ فَقَدْتُ آيَةً كُنْتُ أَسْمَعُهَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَوَجَدْتُهَا عِنْدَ خُزَيْمَةَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ { مِنْ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ رِجَالٌ صَدَقُوا مَا عَاهَدُوا اللَّهَ عَلَيْهِ إِلَى تَبْدِيلًا } قَالَ فَكَانَ خُزَيْمَةُ يُدْعَى ذَا الشَّهَادَتَيْنِ أَجَازَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَهَادَتَهُ بِشَهَادَةِ رَجُلَيْنِ قَالَ الزُّهْرِيُّ وَقُتِلَ يَوْمَ صِفِّينَ مَعَ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Abd al-Razzaq told us: Ma'mar told us, from al-Zuhri, from Kharijah ibn Zayd or someone else, that Zayd ibn Thabit said: 'When the mushafs were written, I missed a verse that I used to hear from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and I found it with Khuzaymah al-Ansari: "Among the believers are men who have been true to what they pledged to Allah" up to "...change [His promise]."' He said: Khuzaymah used to be called 'the one of the two testimonies' - the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, made his testimony equal to the testimony of two men. Al-Zuhri said: And he was killed on the day of Siffin along with Ali, may Allah be pleased with them both.
