قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا النَّضْرِ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ بُسْرِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اتَّخَذَ حُجْرَةً فِي الْمَسْجِدِ مِنْ حَصِيرٍ فَصَلَّى فِيهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيَالِيَ حَتَّى اجْتَمَعَ إِلَيْهِ نَاسٌ ثُمَّ فَقَدُوا صَوْتَهُ فَظَنُّوا أَنَّهُ قَدْ نَامَ فَجَعَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ يَتَنَحْنَحُ لِيَخْرُجَ إِلَيْهِمْ فَقَالَ مَا زَالَ بِكُمْ الَّذِي رَأَيْتُ مِنْ صَنِيعِكُمْ حَتَّى خَشِيتُ أَنْ يُكْتَبَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَوْ كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمْ مَا قُمْتُمْ بِهِ فَصَلُّوا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ فِي بُيُوتِكُمْ فَإِنَّ أَفْضَلَ صَلَاةِ الْمَرْءِ فِي بَيْتِهِ إِلَّا الصَّلَاةَ الْمَكْتُوبَةَ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
[It is said]: Affan told us: Wuhayb told us: Musa ibn Uqba told us, he said: I heard Abu al-Nadr narrate, from Busr ibn Sa'id, from Zayd ibn Thabit, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, took up a small chamber in the mosque made of reed matting, and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, prayed in it for some nights, until people gathered to him. Then they lost his voice and thought he had fallen asleep, so some of them began to clear their throats so that he would come out to them. He said: "What you have done has continued to the point that I feared it would be made obligatory upon you, and if it had been made obligatory upon you, you would not have kept it up. So pray, O people, in your houses, for the most excellent prayer of a person is in his house, except the obligatory prayer."
