Yahya ibn Ishaq told us: Ibn Lahi'a informed us — and Musa told us: Ibn Lahi'a told us — from Ubayd ibn Abi Ja'far, from Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Hubuli, from Abu Dharr, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whatever man uncovers a curtain and puts his eye to look before he is given permission has committed a wrong that is not lawful for him to commit, and if a man were to gouge out his eye for doing so, no compensation would be owed for it. But if a man passes by a door with no curtain over it and sees the nakedness of its household, there is no sin upon him; rather, the sin is upon the people of the house."
