Abd al-Razzaq told us: Ma'mar informed us, from al-Zuhri, from Habib, the freedman of Urwah ibn al-Zubayr, from Urwah, from Abu Murawih al-Ghifari, from Abu Dharr, who said: A man came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and asked him, saying: O Messenger of Allah, which deeds are best? He said: "Faith in Allah and struggle in the way of Allah." He said: Which manumission of slaves is best? He said: "The most valuable of them." He said: What do you think if I cannot find such a slave? He said: "Then help a craftsman, or make something for one who is unskilled." He said: What do you think if I am not able? He said: "Then spare people your harm, for that is a charity you give on behalf of yourself."
