Waki' narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Abu Ishaq, from Abdullah ibn Abi Basir, from Ubayy ibn Ka'b, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, prayed the dawn prayer, and when he had prayed he said: "Is so-and-so present?" The people fell silent; they said "yes" though he had not attended. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The heaviest prayers upon the hypocrites are the night prayer and the dawn prayer. If they knew what is in them, they would come to them even if they had to crawl. And the first row is like the row of the angels; if you knew its merit, you would race to it. Your prayer with two men is more pure than your prayer with one man, and your prayer with one man is more pure than your prayer alone, and whatever is more numerous is more beloved to Allah, Exalted is He." My father said: Waki' said "Abdullah ibn Abi Basir al-Anazi."
