حَدَّثَنَا شُجَاعُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ وَأَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ حُمْرَانَ الْحُمْرَانِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ قَالَ وَقَفْتُ أَنَا وَأُبَيُّ بْنُ كَعْبٍ فِي ظِلِّ أُجُمِ حَسَّانَ فَقَالَ لِي أُبَيٌّ أَلَا تَرَى النَّاسَ مُخْتَلِفَةً أَعْنَاقُهُمْ فِي طَلَبِ الدُّنْيَا قُلْتُ بَلَى قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ يُوشِكُ الْفُرَاتُ أَنْ يَحْسِرَ عَنْ جَبَلٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَإِذَا سَمِعَ بِهِ النَّاسُ سَارُوا إِلَيْهِ فَيَقُولُ مَنْ عِنْدَهُ وَاللَّهِ لَئِنْ تَرَكْنَا النَّاسَ يَأْخُذُونَ فِيهِ لَيَذْهَبَنَّ فَيَقْتَتِلُ النَّاسُ حَتَّى يُقْتَلَ مِنْ كُلِّ مِائَةٍ تِسْعَةٌ وَتِسْعُونَ وَهَذَا لَفْظُ حَدِيثِ أَبِي عَنْ عَفَّانَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا شُجَاعُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ وَأَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ حُمْرَانَ الْحُمْرَانِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ نَوْفَلٍ عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ يُوشِكُ الْفُرَاتُ أَنْ يَحْسِرَ عَنْ جَبَلٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ.

Shuja' ibn Makhlad and Abu Khaythamah Zuhayr ibn Harb narrated to us, they said: Abdullah ibn Humran al-Humrani narrated to us: Abd al-Hamid ibn Ja'far narrated to us: my father informed me, from Sulayman ibn Yasar, from Abdullah ibn al-Harith, who said: I and Ubayy ibn Ka'b stood in the shade of the fortress-tower of Hassan, and Ubayy said to me: "Do you not see the people, their necks stretched out variously in pursuit of this world?" I said: "Yes indeed." He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: "The Euphrates is about to uncover a mountain of gold, and when the people hear of it they will set out toward it. Whoever is present will say, 'By Allah, if we leave people to take from it, it will all be gone'; so the people will fight over it until ninety-nine out of every hundred are killed." And this is the wording of the hadith of Abi as narrated by Affan. Abdullah narrated to us: Shuja' ibn Makhlad and Abu Khaythamah Zuhayr ibn Harb narrated to us, they said: Abdullah ibn Humran al-Humrani narrated to us: Abd al-Hamid ibn Ja'far narrated to us: my father Ja'far ibn Abdullah informed me, from Sulayman ibn Yasar, from Abdullah ibn al-Harith ibn Nawfal, from Ubayy ibn Ka'b, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: "The Euphrates is about to uncover a mountain of gold" -- and he mentioned the hadith.
