حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو يُوسُفَ يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ حَمَّادِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ حَدَّثَنَا جَابِرُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ بْنِ رِفَاعَةَ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ زِرَّ بْنَ حُبَيْشٍ يَقُولُ لَوْلَا سُفَهَاؤُكُمْ لَوَضَعْتُ يَدَيَّ فِي أُذُنَيَّ ثُمَّ نَادَيْتُ أَلَا إِنَّ لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ فِي رَمَضَانَ فِي الْعَشْرِ الْأَوَاخِرِ فِي السَّبْعِ الْأَوَاخِرِ قَبْلَهَا ثَلَاثٌ وَبَعْدَهَا ثَلَاثٌ نَبَأُ مَنْ لَمْ يَكْذِبْنِي عَنْ نَبَإِ مَنْ لَمْ يَكْذِبْهُ قُلْتُ لِأَبِي يُوسُفَ يَعْنِي أُبَيَّ بْنَ كَعْبٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ كَذَا هُوَ عِنْدِي.

Abdullah narrated to us: Abu Yusuf Ya'qub ibn Isma'il ibn Hammad ibn Zayd narrated to me: Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us: Jabir ibn Yazid ibn Rifa'ah narrated to us, from Yazid ibn Abi Sulayman, who said: I heard Zirr ibn Hubaysh say: "Were it not for your foolish ones, I would place my hands over my ears and call out: 'Behold, the Night of Decree is in Ramadan, in the last ten nights, in the last seven — three nights before it and three nights after it — a report from one who did not lie to me, from a report of one who did not lie to him.'" I said to Abu Yusuf, meaning Ubayy ibn Ka'b, "from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him?" He said: "That is how it is with me."
